As President, I look forward to the task of inspiring and empowering you to succeed beyond what you think you would or could do. The following is a famous quote by one of the most insightful and innovative leadership teachers of our time, Lance Secretan:
“Leadership is not so much about technique and methods as it is about opening the heart. Leadership is about inspiration—of oneself and of others. Great leadership is about human experiences, not processes. Leadership is not a formula or a program, it is a human activity that comes from the heart and considers the hearts of others. It is an attitude, not a routine.”
No one can lead an organization to success without the help of its members. All the same, most of us in this room cannot pass a day without the help of our coworkers or family. How many times a day do you call someone for help with something? Whether it’s escrow, title, a lender, your broker, spouse, friend, mom or children, we can’t accomplish our goals alone. You’ve heard the sayings – “There is no “I” in TEAM”, that “Two heads are better than one”, “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts” and that “It takes a village” or rather “It takes a community.” Well, WE are a community and it takes the role of every one of its members in order to thrive.
The Women’s Council of REALTORS® has never been more relevant than it is now with its focus on education, performance management skills, networking and relationship building, CREATING business opportunities, DEVELOPING skills for the future, and INSPIRING us to ACHIEVE our individual potential for success. Isn’t that what we’re all here for? To achieve? To gain value from this organization? To get the referrals? To have the education? To feel inspired? By bringing together the Community, the Creating and the Developing – you will end up ……ACHIEVING.
The Real Estate business will rebound and we are beginning to see signs of growth in some of our markets, so I encourage you to stay informed by attending your Chapters Business Resource Meetings, Increase your knowledge thru Continuing Education, and increase your participation within the Council. The WCR “Promise” is that as you participate and get involved you will become empowered, both personally and professionally, so get ready to meet the growth and enrichment that is on its way to you.
I, along with our 2012 line officers and committee chairs, are anticipating an exciting year for our chapter as well as your business!
